Our Profile

MGX Resources Limited (ASX Code: MGX) is an established independent Australian miner that listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) as Mount Gibson Iron in 2002.

MGX has exported over 90 million tonnes of iron ore from its operations in the Mid West and Kimberley regions of Western Australia since sales commenced in early 2004. Production was concluded at the Mid West operations in 2021 and these assets were divested in mid-2023.

The Company’s flagship production asset is the Koolan Island mine in WA’s Kimberley region from which it has exported over 40Mt since 2007. Production is currently limited to processing and sale of stockpiled lower grade material following a significant rockfall in October 2025.

With the end of production approaching at Koolan Island, MGX is diversifying into precious and base metals, notably through its agreed acquisition of a 50% interest in the advanced high-grade Central Tanami Gold Project in the Northern Territory. The Company is targeting completion of the transaction by 31 March 2026.

The Company also holds precious and base metals exploration tenements in the Mid-West and Gascoyne regions of WA.
